Pacific Coast of Guatemala - February 3rd, 2012

Today we had Tim Fix and his family fishing on the Monkey Business and Furious, fishing was a little bit slaw today they released a total of 4 sailfish and caught 08 dorados.

Some friend of Pino´s group left and others came in to the lodge.
They will fish tomorrow on the Cañaso …

Bill Pino and his group released   26 sailfish  and broke off a blue marlin.

Jeff Ciuba, Kent Lipton, Eric Cox, Tom McCaskill, Cary Davenspeck and Robby Byrum fishing three to a boat Released 36 Sailfish, Shook off one Big Marlin and caught  6 Big Dorado to 50 pounds.

On their last day the released an incredible 20 Roosters out of 35 bites with almost all fish weighing between 30 and 50 pounds! The same bus that took these guys to the city brings the first of the Pino gangs to start fishing mañana so look for more reports with some of Bills great photos.

BOAT: Monkey Business

Charlie & Lean Helmer along with their friend Sally,  Susy and I ran out about 7 miles to fish grouper and snapper. 
As we arrived at the first spot and we a sailfish feeding. He was eating really small bait and turned his nose up to the blue runner we trolled in front of him. This is the first time I have ever seen this. Like a kid turning down a snickers bar. 
We bottom fished for 3 hours and the pictures tell how much fun we had.
 
BOAT: Cañaso
 
Ed Sigda, Mike Fritz & Bill Fintel fishing the Cañaso raised 46 sailfish, had 36 bites and released 13 sailfish.

These are the  dates Capt Charlie Helmer´s Group fished
Jan 18th Charlie and Leann released 17 for 20 and raised 25
Jan. 19th Ed Sigda group released 8 for 26 and raised 30.
Jan 20th Ed’s group also went 2-4 on Roosters
Jan 21 Ed’s group went 5-18 on Sails and raised 20.
Jan 23 Capt. Charlie and Capt.Leann took the girls fishing and went 3-6 on sailfish and had a Blue Marlin in the spread.

Capt. Charlie’s Group all in all releasd 46 Sails in 3 Days of fishing.
The fishing is hot so come on down!

Fishing Report Jan 17, 2012
 
Harry Mason fishing for the 5th time at Buena Vista Sportfishing Lodge had a great trip and started with a personal record of 21 sailfish releases on his first day. Fishing aboard Monkey Business, 37 sailfish were raised with 34 bites and Harry released 21. He also added 2 dorado between 25 and 35 lbs.

The next few days slowed as the current changed direction but he added another 16 releases and caught 5 more large dorado. Fishing for 3 days, his totals were 76 sailfish raises and a total of 37 releases. Harry will be returning with us next month and we are expecting another great fishing trip.

Third time angler Alan Wright returns to Buena Vista Sportfishing and has another very good trip. The first day out on Furioso, 2 marlin were raised with one good bite but the other just played with a teaser. Alan added 4 sailfish releases and 1 nice size dorado.

The next 3 days of fishing saw no more marlin but each day more sails were seen, caught and released. On day 4 Alan hooked and released 10 sails! The totals for the 5 days were 28 sail releases, 2 marlin raised and numerous good sized dorado added to the fun.
