Monte Elswick
Owner
As a founder and owner of the lodge, Monte uses his past experience in the industry to help out and oversee the operation.  A native of the US, he has grown to appreciate the beauty and potential of Guatemala.  He has studied and is an admirer of Mayan history, making him a great source of Mayan lore.  Monte looks forward to hosting you as a guest at the lodge.
 
Jody and Susy Elswick
Owners
Having grown up in Virginia Beach, Jody has surfed and fished his whole life.  He had a boat in Costa Rico for several years before permanently moving to Guatemala eight years ago.  As a founder of Buena Vista Sportfishing, his goal is to provide you with a one-of-a-kind fishing experience.  Susy, a native of the Guatemalan highlands, is a perfect example of the warmth of true Guatemalan hospitality.  Jody and his wife Susy are both bilingual.  Jody lives to fish and Susy has a blackbelt in shopping.  This means clients receive the best personal attention and the Lodge always has the freshest fruits, vegetables and meats. 


Robert Fallon
General Manager
Robert has over ten years of sportfishing development and experience in Guatemala.  He has received hundreds of clients and is an avid angler himself.  He especially loves the thrill of billfish on fly and taught many of his clients how to catch sailfish on fly.  He has been featured on numerous television shows filmed in Guatemala and has appeared in sportfishing magazine articles.  His dedication to customer service will add greatly to our already outstanding client satisfaction.  Robert will be receiving new Lodge inquiries and helping with reservations.  He is looking forward to hearing from his past clients and friends.
