Our Story
 
The story of Buena Vista Sport Fishing Resort began in 2005, when Jody Elswick, a passionate fisherman and surfer, arrived in Guatemala looking for waves and adventure. What he found was much more: he fell in love with fishing in Guatemala, its people, and Susy, who became his wife and partner in his dream.
Together, they founded a small inn called Jody's Place, which quickly became a favorite with anglers from around the world. Over the years, their dedication and love for the sea led them to build more apartments, a second pool, and a private marina across from the hotel.
Thus was born Buena Vista Sport Fishing Resort, the first waterfront sport fishing resort in Guatemala.
