Hot lunches are served on the boats, typically cheeseburgers, chicken, or fresh Mahi sandwiches, fresh fruits, salads, as well as Ceviche/Sashimi after the first catch. Water, sodas, Gatorade, and beer are also provided. We pre-rig 100 ballyhoo and 3 mackerel pitch baits every day.

- CAPTAIN LAN -
Captain Froilán Enríquez Meléndrez, widely known as "Captain Lan," has more than 35 years of experience in sport fishing. His passion for the ocean began at the age of nine, and in 1992 he started his career at El Capitán Restaurant & Marina, where he learned from experienced anglers and captains.
He later worked as a mate aboard the DOM DOM and CLASSIC, under the mentorship of Captain Luis Alcalde, eventually earning his position as a professional sportfishing captain. Today, he holds the Central American Maritime Certification as a Licensed Vessel Master and serves as captain of the CAÑASO at Buena Vista Sport Fishing Resort in Guatemala.
Throughout his career, Captain Lan has commanded renowned sportfishing boats including MAGIC, INTENSITY, OBSESSION, CLASSIC, HEIDY BABY, TEQUILA, MAVERICK, and ENTERPRISE, gaining extensive experience in both offshore and inshore fishing along the Pacific coasts of Guatemala and El Salvador.
Recognized for his professionalism, leadership, commitment to safety, and outstanding customer service, Captain Lan has achieved impressive results in competitive sportfishing. His accomplishments include 1st Place at the El Salvador International Billfish Tournament (2001) and 2nd Place in the 2023 edition, along with numerous first-, second-, and third-place finishes in national tournaments.

El Capitán Víctor Alfonso Gutiérrez Muñoz, de 34 años, cuenta con más de 17 años de experiencia en la pesca deportiva del Pacífico centroamericano. Su pasión por el mar comenzó desde niño y, gracias a la influencia de su padre —también capitán de pesca deportiva—, inició su carrera como marinero, destacando rápidamente en importantes torneos nacionales.
A lo largo de su trayectoria ha formado parte de reconocidas embarcaciones y, con solo 17 años, fue promovido a capitán. Entre sus principales logros se encuentran múltiples podios en torneos nacionales e internacionales, incluyendo la victoria en el Dorado Derby Guatemala, que le permitió representar a Guatemala en el El Salvador International Billfish Tournament, además de un destacado segundo lugar en el Torneo Nacional de Marlin de Omoa, Honduras.
Desde hace cuatro años forma parte de Buena Vista Sportfishing Resort, donde es capitán de la embarcación Monkey Business. En 2026 volvió a coronarse campeón del Dorado Derby Guatemala, reafirmando su prestigio como uno de los capitanes de pesca deportiva más experimentados y competitivos de la región, reconocido por ofrecer experiencias de pesca de primer nivel a clientes nacionales e internacionales.
